Mr Q works in Company A. He has been a hardworking employee(at least that is what he believes). As of now, Mr Q has been working in the said company for three years plus already. Actually, Company A is not bad(that is why he managed to stay for three years), his bosses(there are a lot of bosses in Company A) are all nice people, but Mr Q still feels he is overworked and underpaid.

One fine day, Company M called Mr Q up to see if he is interested to work for them. Out of curiosity Mr Q went to the company to listen to what opportunity is laid for him there. Actually, Company M is of a smaller size than Company A, much much smaller in fact. The work Mr Q is expected to perform there is almost of the same nature that he has been performing in Company A. However, Company M could provide a monthly salary which is 37.5% more than Company A. Mr Q was quite excited!

As mentioned, Mr Q loves Company A and his bosses. He went to discuss this new-found opportunity with his boss(let's call him Mr J) to see what his boss thinks. Mr J is such a knowledgeable person and Mr Q values his opinion highly. After listening to Mr J's two-cents and also a long night of thought, Mr Q decided to kindly turn down Company M's offer and to stay put in Company A for the time being.

Just a little more than a week after turning down Company M's offer, Mr Q got another opportunity to have an interview with Company S! Company S is doing something different from Company A and M. Actually, what Company S is doing is what Mr Q has always wanted to learn and explore. Mr Q was successful in his application. Company S could provide a monthly salary which is 33.75% more than Company A. Mr Q has more or less made up his mind this time.

Mr Q went on the tender his resignation to Company A. Unexpectedly to Mr Q, this triggered a frenzy as Mr Q's boss, boss's boss, boss's boss's boss, were notified and all called him to request him to stay with Company A. Mr Q's boss's boss(let's call him Mr A) asked him out to a cup of coffee to discuss on this issue. Mr Q knows Mr A but rarely speaks to him. During the coffee, Mr Q got to know Mr A a bit more and was immediately attracted with his charismatic leadership. Mr A believes Company A will be able to counter-offer Mr Q in order for him to stay on. Mr Q also hinted a number that he will be satisfied with. However, because of the huge size of Company A and the many legislation involved, Mr A could not solely decide on money matters but he will fight for it for Mr Q. Mr Q was quite touched by Mr A's sincerity.

That afternoon, Mr A called Mr Q to inform the counter-offer by the Company A is 33.75% more and a promotion to Senior. To be truthful, Mr Q is quite disappointed with this number as he feels it is just a bit more than of Company S's and it could not compensate for the knowledge that he will not obtain if he was to stay on with Company A.

Mr Q sighs, "It's time to go."

p/s: After accepting Company S's offer, unexpectedly, Company M called Mr Q again. Company M asked what was the reason that he turned down the offer and could they counter-offer? Mr Q is completely STUNNED! He has never expected a company of that size could actually do this in order to get the man it needs. He is more saddened by the fact that Company A could not have done the same for him. However, Mr Q has no regrets as an adventure awaits him in Company S. Mr Q again kindly turned down the offer but Company M's name will remain in his mind for a long long time.

I just realized that my last post was in November 2009!!! It has been 8 months since I last blogged..haha. Spiderwebs here and there. =P

Today out-of-the-blue, we are going to talk about Electrical Engineering! I noticed I have not actually written anything useful/constructive yet in my blog(haha), but this shall be a start.

My colleagues and I were discussing something over tea time lately and one interesting topic was "What's the difference between Neutral and Ground"? It seems quite simple at first but later on each of us had different understanding on the topic. So here I am, presenting to you MY UNDERSTANDING on this topic(it might be totally wrong..shitz) and would like to invite fellow engineers/muggles to give your two cents.

Imagine the power generated in the power plant(somewhere out there) as an AA battery. To distribute this electricity to us, logically it would require two transmission lines, i.e. to complete the circuit. However, this method(two long cables) might be a bit expensive.


So some wise guy thought, "Why don't we use the ground/earth as the conductor for the return path?" Maybe after some study and experiments it is proven that ground is a good conductor, thus the above concept was born(neutral point of the generator is earthed). Minus one cable..cool!


When the transmission lines reach distribution transformers, there will be a delta-to-star transformation of the power and here, the star/neutral point of the transformer is earthed. From here on, we will start the Neutral lines and L-N lines will go to our homes. (Notice oh, when transmission time only Live lines, but distribution time have Live and Neutral lines d.)

This Sunday is a great Sunday indeed. Not working and no calls from company nor clients. Great great day..so far.

I hadn't been blogging for quite some time already. Sometimes I have this great need to write something down, but when I turn on the PC, I'd rather be facebooking instead. Such is the power of FB! Or, I'd be watching some great performances on youtube (or some funny baby videos that I like alot..hehe).

This is not going to be a picture-filled post, though I really have quite a number of photos I'd like to share. Today, we are going to talk about something serious--your life! For those who are unaware, I just turned 25 last 2nd of Nov 2009. I'm like what..quarter-of-a-century old?

Have you had those moments when you thought, "Oh man..I'm not young any more..I should have achieved something already!!!" I'm having those moments more and more lately. Jiin mentioned that she doesn't want to be a cheap labour and urban poor any more. I guess she must've had those moments too. I'm sure nobody wants to be a cheap labour but if you really REALLY feel despised on being treated unequal of your talent and true capability, you should be doing something about it.

#1 You could start being your own boss!
Wait, should I be opening a shop and selling something? But..I have no modal, renting a place, electricity and water, everything is money.

#2 Fear not, because of the great INTERNET, you could sell something online!
But, wtf, everybody's doing this already! What are you going to sell? Teenagers clothes with lots of fancy photos and stuffs? Erm, not sure if that's gonna work these days.

You know what, all of these are excuses. There's this devil in your mind called "Lazy" which is influencing you and telling you that you are doing great at whatever you are doing. Why try something new? It might be risky and dangerous! To tell the truth, this devil is quite strong in my mind. I hate it when he's limiting what I should try or do..but what he's saying sounds so "true" (wtf, the last sentence actually rhymes!).

Ok, let's say I do not have talent of being a boss. Then I shall be the best employee ever and climb up the corporate ladder. You know what, a new Regional Business Unit Manager aka Big Boss will be coming to work in my company soon and I heard he's only 34! Of course he is angmoh and sometimes that helps too but I guess somehow, he must have something extra that propels him to the top at the shortest time.

I'm in the midst of finding this quality!!! How can you be a top performer, where you will not be envied by your boss, and your boss will so appreciate you that he will give you a promotion? Erm..how how? Should we stay in the same company for a long time to climb the ladder, or should be jump here and there when there's opportunity?

Recently I had a business trip to Tampa, Florida, US of A..and man..that is a place really FAAAARRRRRRRRRR from home.

I was away for a total of 7 days and working days were 3 days. I spend 4 days just travelling(flights + waiting time)..WTF!!!

I had to go to Singapore > Frankfurt > New York > Tampa. The stop-overs are because MAS doesn't have an economy class flight from KL to New York on weekends..wtf.
However, I took Singapore Airlines and I must say..it's really good(from flight services to loyalty programme)! Asia airlines CONFIRM beat western airlines anytime.

Today, i'm gonna share on the F&B services on the long trip i've endured. Because the trip is so fucking long, you get to eat alot of meals on the plane..and some of them are actually pretty good! I even took some photos of them and scanned the menu for your perusal. Do enjoy..

Ever wondered what the hell E-quan is doing? Well, just not to be too specific, my work quite oftenly involves going to an Oil Refinery.
Bet you all never see an oil refinery before rite? You all are in luck this time..








Going to this site makes me think about Red Alert 2 nia. For the guys, remember how we use to play the game and we would like build a refinery by clicking on the refinery structure and placing it on the map and WALAH..we have a refinery in 15 seconds.
This is like the real thing man! It takes so much man and machine power to built one. Really impresses me.


One weekend my colleagues there brought me to the beach. Not very impressive but beats PD anytime.


We had seafood after that. This is something like Teocheow Steam Fish.


You could eat it by wrapping the fish using this
something-like-wantan-idea-but-the-material-is-more-like-paper-
or-maybe-thin-fuchuk-skin kinda thingy.
Oh yeah, you put some vege in the wrapping too.

Hey guys, i'm currently in Quang Ngai, Vietnam for a job assignment. Will be here till the 9th of Oct. Haih.

Very the sien here. Lucky still got ADSL and satellite TV.

Been travelling a whole damn lot lately. Till i quite scared thinking about it. But the nice part about this travelling was: Meeting my coursemates! Syiok, it's so nice seeing everybody after so long.

First stop: Malacca
Met HockPoh and Clarence here. Kelian, only they both there. Haha. They both are the same! HP still so fei and all. It was really nice listening to HP's germany trip and CC's taiwan trip. Din manage to see HP gf. Rupanya not working there, that's y la. And really thanks come fetch me and spend me dinner ler. Remember you both promised come klang for bahkuteh. Dun ffk me.

Next: Penang
Had a job in Sg Petani and thought of: Since such a long journey to the north, sure must go visit the Penangites! Met YenPin, YeeVoon, SzeLek, and Annie there. All of them are the same as well. SzeLek nice lor, go Amadika for few months. YP and YV still loving couple as always, sure kahwin soon. Annie oredi kahwin. Haha..just jk. Everyone is real fine here. Lek-go going to be promoted to Assistant GM soon, in-charge to company expansion and internal system coordination.
Oh yeah, must mention this: I stayed in B-Suite hotel. Superb room for RM125 per nite.

Next: Singapore
Went for a training there. Managed to catch up with MeiYi, HooiEan, and HooiMin. They all really nice ler. Bring me dinner and jalan-jalan after that. Listen to their working life interesting betul. Beza between malaysians and singaporeans, haha. Esp MY's stories. Thanks bring me go minum in Clark Quay ha. Lowkei, Hooters nice hor? Haha.
Learned one word there: Chiong (as in rush to the scene that "rush"). Din know can like this use: Yesterday I went to "chiong" with my colleagues = Yesterday, I went clubbing with my colleagues. Haha.

Next: KL
Well, KL is not actually a trip per se. But anyway, the central region gang comprising of myself, Elaine, YewFatt, KamTat, Lowkei and gf, went out to have a farewell with IanCing who will be relocating back to her lau jia for her new job in Malacca. She'll be HP's colleague then. Happy bor, HP? Lowkei planned go itu Souled-Out in hartamas wan mana tahu that nite they having private function and it's closed. CCB betul. End up went somewhere near there for japanese food and some minum. Hope IC will suit well to her new job. All the best!

Now: Vietnam
Haih, no coursemates here of course. Just hoping that time passes quickly. Can't wait to be back.
The ppl here are frenly though. And the traffic here is crazy. I was in a car that day and the journey was really like in the movies, with a bus coming straight at you and you narrowly escaped that type. Oh yeah, honking is their favourite hobby. =P

Next: Finland
I really hope everything would turn out well. That i get back from Vietnam on time, one week to prepare, and off i go on my first Europe trip! Really looking forward to that. Having a meeting/training there. Made the flight schedule ngam ngam so i could stop by Amsterdam for two nites. Haha. Pray pray that everything will go smoothly. Paling penting is i leave Vietnam according to schedule. Dowan to be delayed here.

That pretty much sum up about how am i doing lately.

I went to work at 8am on Friday and left the office at 7:30am on Saturday. WTF!
This is my first time working 24hrs straight. This is crazy man.

The products were supposed to be packed and shipped out on Sat but they weren't even ready on Fri. It's always like this: When bad things don't come, they don't. When they do, they come all at once.

-Faulty parts
-Incomplete wiring
-Wrong wiring
-and other fucks

Product oh product. Please don't explode on site. I dowan to go to site to fix you. Haha.

But it was a good experience. Really. To see this small bunch of grass roots of the organization working their asses off makes me feel touched and emotional. These are the guys who make the organization work! How I wish there were some bosses around who would buy us dinner/supper and motivate us on. But there were none, zero, nil, zilch. You know la, Friday ma, work late, siao meh.

On a lighter note, really looking forward to the month of August. Got perhentian trip with Elaine early of the month and Alan Tam's Genting concert end of the month. SYIOK!

marks the day that I've been a part of the working community for a WHOLE YEAR!
I dunno I should be happy or unhappy. XD

During this course, I've changed job once. At the beginning I thought I really made a wrong move but I'm glad I've finally adapted to the change. I'm also beginning to like the job already.

I'm hoping this coming year there'll be more opportunities/goodies coming my way and I'm sure to seize them once they come. =)

For me, worked for a total of 6 days d. Time flies. It's the weekend again. Haven't been blogging for the longest time. Boh-huat. Work come back d..damn tired. Where got mood do anything else?

Come, let me tell u something about my work. 1st hor, i need drive around 45mins to work lor. 50KMs one way. Ok..petrol money i is dun really mind wan. Buthen hor, need pass 3 tolls. Damn tulan. Chongchi one month RM600 gone for petrol n toll d..WALAN! Haha, u all sure scold me bodoh do this kinda things wan. But again. Boh-huat. Too like stay at home d. Somore mom quite a good cook. So..boh-huat ler. =)

Then hor, work really abit the pressure. It's not ppl give u pressure ler. It's ownself give ownself pressure. "Nei yao ngat lek, ngo dou yao ngat lek" they say. Coz the things that i'm suppose to do abit the out of my scope can? Although i'm quite interested in it but..walan..can die. So everyday for the past few days it's all about learning. Haha, i know. U all sure wondering WTF am i tokking about rite? "Do wat job?" u might ask. But to protect the author from unwanted "threat/disturbance" from work, my job shall be highly confidential..wakaka! See, i didn't even tell u where i am working. 50KMs to where rite? Wakaka!

Haih, i oso dunno y i'm writing all these bull-shits. Chongchi sebagai conclusion now work is scared scared ler. Scared dunno how to do then make the whole project fail..haha. Hopefully it'll get better overtime. Dunno y baru work one week keep thinking of end of month get paid..haha. This definitely proves that i'm not working material. DIE. =(

Searched through some old stuffs lately and found these(probably drawn when i was in primary school). Maybe these are some indications that i have engineering potential since young?!? Aiyar, no i think. More to technician potential. Haha.
